In this post we will talk all about why marketing with blogs is the best strategy for introverted entrepreneurs!
As introverted entrepreneurs I feel like we sometimes get the short end of the stick! If we are on social media, we are seeing people marketing there consistently! We hear successful entrepreneurs talk about the importance of social media marketing and showing up everyday…
I won’t speak for you, but I definitely fell into this trap and when it didn’t work for me, I didn’t understand why. Now as time has passed I can reflect back and I see exactly why it didn’t work. And it was because of these two reasons:
- I was getting burnt out! I was able to stay consistent and regularly post for 3-4 months and then I would completely burn out! To the point where I wouldn’t show up for the next 2 months because I felt so overwhelmed by it. Simply put, it just didn’t work for my energy or personality.
- It didn’t feel authentic to me. Which I’m sure reflected in the content I was putting out.
I always knew I wanted to market through my blog! But I kept getting distracted by shiny object syndrome when I would see others’ success through socials. And I kept putting off the thing that felt the most aligned to me. Blogging!
Business blogging is a match made in marketing heaven for Introverts!
This post is not about me and what worked for me. This post is about YOU as an introvert and the fact that there is a way for you to show up online in a way that feels aligned with who you are!
As introverts, we get each other! And we need more of each other to share their success stories so they can be our motivation! This is why I share my own journey with you, I hope it encourages you to take that plunge and launch your own blog that works with your lifestyle!
Let’s first talk about the strategy portion, then we will get into why blogging works with our introverted personalities. Alright, so let’s get into it!

I have the perfect gift for you!

Why blogging for marketing is the best strategy for Introverted Entrepreneurs
Blog posts have the greatest ROI (return in investment) for the time and energy you are spending creating the content.
Writing a blog post can take anywhere from 2-4 hours. That includes researching, writing, creating graphics and posting. If it’s an opinion piece or you’re sharing your thoughts or experiences it’s a lot faster to write. For the posts that you need to gather stats and information tend to take longer, of course!
That might seem like a long time to make content but when you see the statistics it will all seem worth it!
The average lifespan of content and social media posts in 2025
- The average half-life duration for Snapchat posts is 0 minutes.
- The average half-life duration for TikTok posts is 0 minutes.
- The average half-life duration for posts on X is 49 minutes.
- The average half-life duration for Facebook posts is 81 minutes = 1.35 hours.
- The average half-life duration for Reddit posts is 155 minutes = 2.58 hours.
- The average half-life duration for Instagram posts is 1,143 minutes = 19.04 hours.
- The average half-life duration for LinkedIn posts is 1,426 = 23.77 hours.
- The average half-life duration for posts on podcast platforms with engagement functionality is 9,625 minutes = 6.68 days.
- The average half-life duration for YouTube posts is 13,929 minutes = 9.67 days.
- The average half-life duration for Pinterest posts is 169,789 minutes = 3.88 months.
- The average half-life duration for posts on blog platforms with engagement functionality is 1,037,340 minutes = 1.97 years.
“The relevance and engagement of social media posts have a limited lifespan. An advantageous objective metric is half-life. It’s the time it takes for a post to receive half of its total engagement (such as likes, shares, and comments).”

Isn’t this so fascinating? And just to clarify, this research measures what they call “half-life” for each content type. This means that the time frame shown is when each type of content reaches the halfway mark of its total engagement. So the content can actually last much longer than even these timeframes!
Why does the lifespan of your content matter?
This is where you want to factor in your ROI. Wouldn’t you rather spend 3-4 hours creating a piece of content that you know will continue to bring you traffic and leads for years to come? Imagine if you are spending up to 30 minutes creating a single instagram post and you’re posting 5 times a week. That’s 2.5 hours spent in creating content that has a shelf life of 48 hours or less! This isn’t including showing up regularly on stories or engaging with your community.
As an introvert it’s so important to create content that provides the highest return! Preserve your energy for when you’re working with your clients not to create content.
Blogs for digital marketing are strategy driven
Use that quiet power of focus and strategy to your benefit! When you write a blog post for your business you’re not just throwing spaghetti at the walls and seeing what sticks. It’s important to know what your customers are actually searching for and create content based on that research.
Your blog posts should be based on SEO Keyword Research. I won’t go into detail about how to do that in this post but I have written a blog that you can read: 4 Ways To Do SEO Keyword Research
You might be wondering, “what is keyword research?”
“Keyword research is the process of finding and analyzing search terms that people enter into search engines with the goal of using that data for a specific purpose, often for search engine optimization (SEO) or general marketing. Keyword research can uncover queries to target, the popularity of these queries, their ranking difficulty, and more.”

When you do keyword research you determine what your people are actually searching for. This way you know exactly what content to serve them. And as helpful introverts, we want to provide unique and valuable content that actually helps our ideal clients. Coincidentally, that’s exactly what Google wants as well! Your blog posts should provide value to your readers!
And when you write blog posts that you know people are searching for it just feels like you’re actually working towards something. You’re not just creating for the sake of creating. The content you are writing is actually going to help grow your business over time! And that is based on data and research, which means you’re being very strategic with your time and marketing.
Blogging attracts your ideal clients aka like minded humans!
As you now know, your content is based on SEO keyword research. You are directly targeting your ideal client with your content. This means you are attracting exactly who you want to attract.
As introverts, it’s really important for us to work with people who feel good to our nervous system. We don’t want to feel drained when we come out of a meeting or while working with a client.
It’s so helpful knowing that the people who are finding your content and becoming a part of your community are like minded humans!

Let’s talk about the introvert specific benefits of blogging for marketing
Let’s be honest, don’t you feel so happy when your plans get cancelled? You can keep that feeling alive with your marketing! Stay home, stay cozy and still get sh*t done! In a way that feels oh so good to your nervous system!
Social media marketing becomes optional
There’s nothing wrong with marketing on social media platforms like Instagram or Tik Tok. They can definitely help with growing our business. You can even take your blog posts and repurpose them into multiple pieces of content on social media platforms.
The great part is that when you have a successful blog it takes the pressure off your social media marketing. You don’t feel like you have to show up when you just don’t feel like it! Creating content for Instagram can become something fun and light. Something you do simply because you want to.
You can build the coziest business for yourself!
Imagine this, it’s content day and you’re about to buckle down for a few hours to work. You don’t need to worry about doing your hair or make up because no one is going to see you. Heck, you can even stay in your pajamas or robe! The first thing you do is make yourself a nice hot cup of coffee or tea. Grab your favourite candle or pour a couple of essential oil drops into a diffuser (I like using the ones that make you feel calm and relaxed!). Then you pick up your coziest blanket and curl up onto the couch, or your bed – no judgements here!
From there you can take the next few hours to write your blog post for the week. And you can feel confident knowing it will be found by the right people. People who are like you and are actually searching for your services.
You get to provide your expertise and share your opinions all without having to get out of your comfort zone!
