I am so glad you found my little corner on the internet! I'm sure we will be good friends if you are a fellow introvert that loves cozy vibes! I'm here to show you how to grow an online business while staying comfy on your couch! pst... no social media required!

Why SEO is the Best Long-Term Marketing Strategy for Coaches + Wellness Entrepreneurs

TL;DR: SEO (search engine optimization) is one of the most sustainable ways to grow your
coaching or wellness business online. Unlike social media, which requires daily posting, SEO
helps your content rank on Google and AI search so your ideal clients can find you 24/7.

What is SEO and Why Does It Matter for Your Business?

“SEO stands for search engine optimization. It is the practice of improving your website’s content, structure, and visibility to rank higher on search engines like Google.” – Moz

For coaches and wellness entrepreneurs, this is especially powerful. Your ideal clients are already searching for answers to their struggles—things like:

  • “How to set healthy boundaries as a busy mom”
  • “Mindset coaching for entrepreneurs”
  • “Holistic ways to reduce stress”

When your website shows up in those searches, you’re instantly positioned as the go-to expert. The thing is, your ideal clients are already making these searches. Not having an SEO optimized website and not creating blog posts that answer these questions is a huge missed opportunity!

When someone finds you through search, it’s because they are actively searching for your content, making them already warm leads!

How SEO Helps Coaches + Wellness Entrepreneurs Grow Online

SEO is different than social media posts that only work for 48 hours max! SEO can continue to drive traffic to your website for months and even years to come! It’s like your 24/7 marketing system, or like a gift that just keeps giving!

Here are some benefits of SEO for Coaches + Wellness Entrepreneurs:

  • Evergreen visibility: A blog post written today can keep bringing in leads for years.
  • Aligned audience: You attract clients who are already looking for your services, instead of trying to convince cold followers.
  • Introvert-friendly marketing: No pressure to show up daily on Instagram because your website does the work quietly.
  • Builds trust + authority: Google rewards high-quality content, and clients trust businesses that show up in search results.

Step-by-Step: How to Start Using SEO in Your Coaching or Wellness Business

Getting started doesn’t have to be overwhelming! I want to make it as easy as possible because I truly believe this strategy is going to help you build an aligned business as an introvert! Not only that, you will get the greatest ROI (return on investment) on your content creation with SEO and Blogging!

Here’s a simple roadmap:

1. Create content pillars

Choose between 3-5 topics you want to write about. These should of course be related to your business and topics you know your ideal clients would be interested in! It will make it a lot easier to consistently write if you’re swapping through topics vs writing about one thing every week!

For example, my content pillars are:

  • Business
  • Showit
  • Introvert Lifestyle
  • Personal

2. Choose topics your clients are Googling

Write down 10 questions your ideal client asks you most often. These make great blog post ideas. You can also brainstorm 10 ideas for each content pillar. If you have 3 content pillars and brainstorm 10 ideas you know your clients are searching for – you’ll have 30 blog post ideas!

3. Do keyword research

Use free tools to do your own SEO keyword research. This will help you determine what keywords your clients are actually typing into the search bar!

4. Write blog posts consistently

I know you hear this all the time “stay consistent”. And it’s because it really is very important! Choose a schedule for how often you want to blog and stick to it. Whether that’s every week or once a month. It’s better to post consistently than post 4 times in one week and not again for months.

That being said, if you are serious about blogging as a content marketing strategy then I recommend posting twice a week. I know it’s a lot but remember these posts will continue to perform for years to come!

I use blogging as my main marketing strategy, and it feels so good to my nervous system! I get cozy with a hot coffee, cuddle up with my blanket on my couch and write my posts. I don’t do my make up or my hair or worry about following trends. It really is the best marketing strategy for introverts and also anyone who wants to keep their nervous system regulated!

5. Optimize your main website pages and blog posts for SEO

Add your keywords to the following areas on your blog and main website pages:

  • Use your SEO keywords in the following areas:
    • Blog post title
    • Headings
    • Throughout paragraphs where it makes sense
    • Page title
    • Page/Meta description
    • URL
    • Image alt text

For your blog posts, add this additional content to optimize for SEO and AI Search!

  • Add a TL;DR summary
  • Include FAQs at the end of the post

6. Link strategically

Internal and external linking is really good for SEO.

  • Internal linking: link to pages and post within your own website
  • External linking: linking to web pages from other websites

These are pretty easy to do but have a really great SEO impact! For external links, you can add quotes, stats, anything related to your content. For internal links you can have a “You’ll also love…” section that links to related blog posts.

Common Mistakes to Avoid with SEO

Many entrepreneurs give up on SEO because they expect overnight results. Now, since we’re friends – I’ll be honest with you! You will not see over night results! That’s not what we are here for. We are here for long-term growth, which is exactly what you’ll get with a strong SEO and blogging strategy!

Here are some SEO mistakes to avoid:

  • Inconsistent blogging: Writing once and stopping won’t move the needle (trust me, I learned the hard way!).
  • Keyword stuffing: Adding keywords in a way that doesn’t make sense to human readers. Also just jamming as many in as you can, big no no!
  • No clear CTA: Don’t forget to tell readers what to do next. You’ve put the work in to get them to land on your blog/web page, now be sure to capture that lead!
  • Ignoring analytics: Use Google Analytics or Search Console to track what’s working and what’s not!

Remember, SEO is a long-term strategy. Most posts take 3–6 months to gain traction, but the results last for years!

Final Thoughts: Why SEO is Worth It

As a coach or wellness entrepreneur you have so many ways you can help your audience. Even one single blog post can make a difference for them! Imagine, you’re helping your community while also building a powerful marketing system. As I mentioned earlier, if your websites optimized for SEO and you’re consistently blogging – you can bring organic traffic to your business for years to come! You will get the most ROI on your content creation!

For coaches and wellness entrepreneurs, SEO is more than just a marketing tactic, it’s a foundation. It helps you:

  • Attract clients without burning out on social media.
  • Build credibility and trust.
  • Create content that works for you long after it’s published.

FAQ

How often should I blog for SEO?

This depends on what you think is realistic for yourself. If you can blog weekly, that’s great! Or if you can only blog once a month, that’s fine too. What matters most is that it’s a schedule you can stick to. However, I do want to mention, the more you post of course the more content Search Engines will have to pull from when a user makes a search query. This is why I recommend posting more often (still consistently) if you’re serious about blogging.

Do I need to be a good writer to start a blog?

That’s not a requirement! Your expertise matters more than perfect writing. Aim to write helpful content you know your users are actually searching for. But I do want to mention, you should enjoy writing to some extent in order to do it consistently long-term. I always say choose a marketing strategy that you enjoy doing, or at least don’t hate doing!

How long does it take for SEO to work?

It can take anywhere from 6-12 months for your website to start attracting organic traffic after optimizing for SEO. Once you’ve been blogging regularly for a year or so, your blog posts can take anywhere from 3-6 months to rank.

Can SEO replace social media?

SEO can reduce your dependence on social media, but many businesses use a mix—SEO for long-term traffic, social media for quick engagement. My goal is to support you in building a long-term marketing strategy with your blog so you can eventually quit socials if you choose to!
